Fruit of the Spirit - Gentleness

Learning Gentleness from Jesus

1.) Gentleness Comes from Resting in Christ

2.) Gentleness Means Serving Humbly and Quietly

3.) Gentleness Means Caring for the Weak

Questions:

1.) In what ways does our culture see "gentleness" as a good thing?  In what ways does our culture see it as a weakness?

2.) Why do you think Paul makes gentleness a requirement for leaders?

3.) Who did Jesus and Paul refer to by negative names (e.g., "fool", "hypocrite", "bewitched")?  Why was this not contrary to what the Bible teaches about gentleness?

4.) What is the opposite of gentleness?

5.) Why should believing the Gospel make us gentle?

6.) What does it mean to have a "quiet" ministry, like Jesus had?

7.) What was a time when you felt like a "bruised reed" or a "smoldering wick"?  How did the Lord meet you in that need?  How did other Christians minister to you?
